Her Jewelry: One of the best ways to choose earrings – or any jewelry for your sweetheart is to pay attention to the jewelry she already wears. Most women have definite styles of jewelry that they like.

When you look at her jewelry, one of the first things you definitely want to pay attention to is the color. Does she fall in the (yellow) gold or silver (white gold) camp. The majority of women are partial to one color or the other.

If you're thinking, “I've seen her wear both. Which one do I choose?” The advice is, even though she may mix it up every once in a while, she almost sure prefers one color over the other.

To find out, notice the color of the everyday watch she wears, her favorite earrings or the necklace she always has on. Which color is that? That is more than likely the color she prefers. So, when you go shopping for earrings for her, you're going to choose a set in that color.

Her Style: Now that you know which color you're going to choose, the next thing you want to think about is style. Does she like dangling earrings, hoop earrings, stud earrings, large-scale earrings, etc.

To discern this, again pay attention to the style of earrings she wears most often. Here's a little fashion secret gentlemen: woman have a favorite pair of earrings. And, this pair contains everything you need to know about the style of earrings she prefers.

If she always wears a pair of gold hoops, then she probably prefers gold jewelry in a simple hoop or hanging style.

Another style component you want to take into account is her style of dress. If she's a jeans and t-shirt girl, but occasionally has fancy functions to attend and moans about her lack of accessories (ie, earrings) to complement her outfit, then you may want to buy her a pair outside of what she would normally wear.
